The 6th International School in Psycholinguistics, Neurolinguistics and Clinical Linguistics was held at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad (Serbia) from 20 to 24 April 2026. The School featured a programme of 20 lectures delivered by twelve highly qualified specialists from a range of European institutions, including the University of Zagreb (Croatia), the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), the University of A Coruña (Spain), the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), the University of Barcelona (Spain), and University College London (United Kingdom), as well as from the University of Belgrade, the University of Novi Sad, and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The 2026 edition of the School attracted considerable interest from the academic community. A total of 109 applicants, comprising undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students with backgrounds in fields including Psycholinguistics, Linguistics, Philology, Speech and Language Therapy, Special Education, and Psychology, submitted applications for a limited number of places. In the selection process, careful attention was given to ensuring an appropriate balance with respect to gender, ethnicity, and level of education. Of the 55 applicants selected by the Organizers, three were granted a full fee waiver on the basis of financial need and academic merit. In addition, three students enrolled at the University of Novi Sad were awarded a 50% reduction in the participation fee, in recognition of the School’s commitment to accessibility for students at the host institution. In the end, a total of 45 attended the School. Participants represented 29 universities from 15 countries, including Malaysia, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Tunisia, Greece, Denmark, Russia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey, and Serbia. Of the 45 attendees, 42 were awarded a Certificate of Completion, having satisfied the minimum attendance requirement of 12 out of 20 two-hour sessions.
The success of the 2026 edition was further reflected in the feedback received from participants, which indicated a high level of satisfaction with both the academic content of the courses and the organizational arrangements. The Organizers wish to express their gratitude to the Van Riemsdijk Foundation for recognizing the scientific and educational value of the School, its international character, and its commitment to supporting early-career researchers. The Foundation’s generous funding contributed to covering the costs associated with hosting the lecturers, whose expertise and dedication have proven to be an invaluable asset to the School over the years.
