The first Summer School in Uralic Formal Linguistics (SShUFL) was held at the HUN-REN Hungarian Research Centre for Linguistics in Budapest on August 21-26th, 2023. It offered twelve intensive courses on Uralic morphosyntax, phonology, semantics and pragmatics, as well as experimental linguistics, taught by lead specialists of Uralic linguistics from around the world. The summer school attracted more than 40 students from Hungary and abroad. We received many positive comments from the attendees, and were very happy to learn that the classes provided them with inspiration for their own future research. We are hoping that SShUFL will become a recurrent event!
